A comedy character who is mischievous, lighthearted, and coquettish—often a confidante of the ingenue, she can display a flirtatious or even sexually aggressive nature.
Famous examples are the characters Ado Annie in Oklahoma and Ellie Mae Chipley, who sings "Life Upon the Wicked Stage," in Showboat.
Also, leading ladies such as Chicago's Roxie and Damn Yankees' Lola.

I've been assisting one of my favorite choreographers, Christopher Noffke, in a new off-Broadway production of "BARE" which will play the York Theatre and St. Peter's June 6-16.
